St. Mary's Basilica, Bangalore

St. Mary's Basilica, located in Shivajinagar, is one of the six basilicas in India and thus considered as a sacred site by the Christian community. The history of the basilica and Bengaluru are linked to the history of Karnataka itself.

The church was built in the 17th or 18th century and is one of the most popular tourist attractions of Shivajinagar in Bengaluru apart from the shopping for which people visit the place. St. Mary's Feast is a fest here for which devotees throng in from different parts of the state and outside.
