Government Museum, Bangalore

The Government Museum in Bengaluru is the second oldest museum in South India. It is located at Kasturba Road in Bengaluru and is quite close to Cubbon Park. This archaeological museum has a huge collection like old jewellery, coins and inscriptions, sculptures, etc.

The museum also has displays of Halmidi inscription, which is the earliest Kannada inscription. The building is divided into two floors into 18 galleries that portray pieces of art, natural history, music, numismatics and culture. The museum is open on all days from 10 am to 5 pm, except on Mondays.
