The Vazhachal Waterfall is located in the Sholayar ranges in the rainforests of Athirappilly. It is five km apart from the Athirappilly waterfall and 36 km away from Chalakuddy forests. The picturesque beauty of the waterfall provides an escape to those who want to leave the stressful city life behind. Unlike its more striking sister Athirappilly Waterfalls, the Vazhachal Fall look like a faster paced river than a waterfall. The Vazhachal area is known to have good riparian vegetation which is well-preserved and has a thousand varieties of living species inhabiting it.
