Pattupurackal Devi temple, Adoor


 Pattupurackal Devi Temple is a prominent religious spot and yet another attraction of Adoor. This temple is situated in the surroundings of the Pandalam Valiakoikkal Temple and is dedicated to Goddess Bhadrakali who is an incarnation of Goddess Parvati. The temple complex comprises of the sanctum, the idol of Goddess Bhadrakali and a Kanikka Mandapam.

  The temple attracts hundreds of devotees all through the year. The Kanikka Mandapam of the temple is 250 meter high and is dedicated to Goddess Bhadrakali. This ancient temple has a history that dates back to the reign of the Pandya Rajas. Like all the other temples of the region, Pattupurackal Devi temple has contributed majorly to the cultural and religious history of Adoor. An air of devotion lingers in the temple surroundings and travelers are sure to find this place a spot of great religious sentiments.
