Waterfalls near Bangalore!

For those who dwell in cities, an outing over the weekend would be a perfect way to unwind and relax, staying away from all the deadlines and targets. But do these people actually go to some place other than shopping malls?

If you reside in Bangalore and would love to make the most of a weekend, head to some of the best waterfalls around Bangalore. Here's a list of waterfalls that are less than 200 km away from the city.

Pearl Valley - 43km

Pearl Valley - 43km

The Pearl Valley Waterfalls or Muthyalamaduvu is located around 43 km from Bangalore. It is known for its waterfall and the mountain ranges that are ideal for trekking.
You can reach the place travelling through Hosur road passing by Electronic city. The waterfalls is located 5 km from Anekal. The best time to visit the place is from August to November.

Chunchi Falls – 83km

Chunchi Waterfalls is another place you could head during a weekend. It is located on the river Arkavati. You've to cross Kanakpura when you travel from the city, a sign board on the Sangama/Mekedatu road directs you towards left to reach Chunchi waterfalls.

The waterfalls is nestled among huge rocks and you would have to pass the rocky area to reach the waterfalls.

Mekedatu – 93km

Mekedatu is a scenic spot located in Kanakpura Taluk along river Kaveri. Take the Kanakpura road from Bangalore city and reach Sangama. You can park your vehicles at Sangama and head to Mekedatu. There are buses that shuttle between Sangama and Mekedatu.

Shivanasamudra – 110km

Shivanasamudra – 110km

Shivanasamudra is one of the best waterfalls around the city and is located around 110 km from Bangalore. This spot is around 50km from Hassan and 83km away from Mysore. What awaits you here are the Shivanasamudra waterfalls, Barachukki and Gaganachukki waterfalls. Asia's first hydro-electric power station is also situated here.

Hogenakkal – 180km

Hogenakkal – 180km

Hogenakkal is fondly called the 'Niagara Falls of India'. Apart from the visual delight offered, the spot is also ideal for coracle rides and fishing. Hogenakkal is located around 18km from Dharmapuri in Tamil Nadu. The route covers Electronic city, heading to Hogenakkal taking the Malur-Hosur road.
