The vast lands of India continue to mesmerise people across the world with its vast array of religions, cultures and traditions. People in India are as diverse as the land itself! This also means that a variety of festivals are celebrated in the country across the year. Some festivals are popular only in a particular region such as the Vishu in Kerala, a few others are celebrated across the country by different names such as Pongal, also celebrated as Makar Shankranti and Lohri. Certain festivals are celebrated across the country with much fervour such as Diwali and Christmas.
Christmas is a grand affair in parts of India where the Christian population is higher, but regardless of this all cities and towns come together to celebrate this wonderful day. Churches are decked up and masses go on through the night, candles are lit, Christmas trees are decorated, presents and new clothes are bought, Santas get ready to enthral the kids and homes are decked up with lights and assortment of goodies. Sounds like great fun? Take a look!
